Stuarts Granolithic Company

Heartland

master brummie
This long established company established a depot at the end of Northcote Road Stechford in the 1920's
They had depots in Edinburgh, London and Manchester. The business was the supply of granolithic pavement which was a cement mixed with a hard stone including granite but they also made ornaments for buildings.
The Stechford operation ended about 1965 and seems to have been a midlands supply depot for this product.

The Company originated in Aberdeen (1840) but had a long representation in Midlands.
In around 1900 it consisted of a small office in Bartholomew St. and moved to Northcote Street in 1930. A site at Station Rd, Coleshill was started in 1960 and the Stetchford premises were vacated soon after.
