What follows are a set of links to sites that offer free music on the Creative Commons license. There are lots of others but these in particular point to pages of out-of copyright recordings. I know most of you prefer the 50s and 60s but this is generally older stuff.
https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Antique_Phonograph_Music_Program_Various_Artists/

https://www.archive.org/search.php?query=collection:78rpm&sort=-publicdate

the latter is better searched through as a lot of the stuff is in single tracks. There are whole albums of material from the same artist and they have some films too. There is post-50s material as well either in the live archive or other collections although the other collections are generally more obscure acts. This is a link to their feature film collection https://www.archive.org/details/feature_films

This next one is from a site that gives out free stuff for kids. https://www.kazoomzoom.com/music/kzz003 is a collection of old ragtime piano rolls.

These links aren't the obscure stuff, just old. There are more archives that don't deal in old stuff. They tend to have acts that either haven't made it yet or aren't likely to sell their records any more, or just don't want to do commercial music. A lot of it is really bad but it depends on what you like as to what you think is bad. If you want I'll post links to some of the other sites and list some of the acts I liked from them but my tastes aren't necessarily going to be yours. If you want some idea, try browsing the site at FMA (there's a link to the phonographic collection above), the audio archive at archive.org or take a look at https://www.jamendo.com/en/
