Newspapers : Newspaper Archive new issues of local journals

New items listed as now added include:

I would recommend the Newspaper Archives to anyone who has an ongoing interest in history and local history from say 1850-1950. (Where the most number of pages are concentrated.) When I first took out a subscription there were just less than 2m pages on the Archive, and now there are over 15m and increasing.

I have found many things in the Archives which are contrary to the "established" versions. For example one of the most pleasing has been to find that the 410 million year old "Coseley Spider" did not actually come from Coseley. The story can be seen below, and one remarkable thing, as seen in the comments, was that one of the creators of the CT scan actually contacted the Blogg.

Even more new issues of the Birmingham Post have been added to the newspaper archive:
1958, 1961, 1963-1964, 1966-1972

There have been a few odd issues of Birmingham papers added to the newspaper archive from various years. In particular should be noted the ones of the Birmingham Post, where it is not always obvious that certain years are not complete, and so there may be items in there that have unknowingly been missed in a search The years are listed below:
I
Aris’s Birmingham Gazette 1876, 1880
Birmingham Daily Gazette 1889
Birmingham Daily Post 1878, 1889, 1897

Some more additions to the pages on the Newspaper archives relating to Birmingham:
Birmingham Mail 1881-1884, 1887, 1890-1891, 1896, 1900-1901, 1904-1906

Also a new publication, with which, to be honest, I am unfamiliar:
Birmingham Weekly Post 1954-1958

Though am not sure if we will find much about Birmingham in the latter, as both "Jewellery quarter " and "Balsall heath" got no results, and "moseley" only one concerning the moseley dramatic art circle competing against Shrewsbury

The archive have just added the years 1969 and 1970 to their online collection from the Birmingham Post

Not strictly Birmingham, but of possible interest, in particular to those in the north of the city. The archive has just added the following years of the Lichfield Mercury:
1929-1931, 1942, 1964, 1966, 1968, 1971-1973, 1985-1986, 1988-1989, 1991

No Eric. I'm afraid the question has been asked before, and as it was a very minor local paper, think it unlikely to reach the archive in the near future.

A pity that.
When I exported my old Rolls to San Francisco they got wind of the story and did a 'local boy makes good' piece about it.
