So Audacious

Valerie Dunbar

master brummie
An audacious sort of goblin
Top to toe in velvet green
With laced up pointed leather shoes
To chase away the bluest blues
The most mischievous goblin
That there has ever been

On the head of this small goblin
Was a peacock feathered cap
Around his chubby waist, pulled tight
A belt that had a buckle bright
And the chuckle from this goblin
Proved he was a friendly chap

He sang to me this goblin
In lovely liting sound
Of his homeland that was far away
To which he would return someday
I laughed then as this goblin
Danced a jig upon the ground

Then this sprightly little goblin
Dropped a shamrock at my feet
Then vanished! Where I cannot say
Yet the shamrock I still have today
To remind me of the goblin
that I by chance did meet?
