Well if you look at 'The Bar at the Folies bergere' by Manet, 1882 (my favourite painting)
You'll see in the painting a bottle of Manns brown ale...mmmm... Brown and mild..

I occasionaly have a Manns Brown at the Gate Inn Les. I must say its not so good as it was, but Newcastle Brown still tastes brilliant.
