  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Situation Comedy

I quite liked 'Dont Wait up' too, which starred Nigel Haver's and Dinah Sheridan. Tony Britten was excellent in it, so funny. Does anyone remember Alf Garnett, and his long suffering wife and daughter (Una Stubbs)? Just can't think of the title at the moment.
 
How about 'Never Mind the Quality, Feel the Width'.
Or, Whacko! with Jimmy Edwards.

in "the good life" which I used to love. How come barbara without any ids didn't work before they went self dufficient and yet they had that big Home Counties house with no mortgage??
 
Thank you pollypops. I will have a look at that. I remembered what it was called after I had sent my post. How I loved Freddy Frinton, both him and Thora seemed such lovely gentle people.
 
Another 1960'ss sitcom I remember was' never mind the quality feel the width' about two men working in a taliors shop, one Jewish & the other Irish
 
Yes I remember and liked "never mind the quality feel the width", the Jewish Tailor made the jackets and the Irish tailor the trousers. What was the Jewish actors name ? Eric

Yes, I cut my sitcom teeth on the Army Game (unless Bill and Ben counts as a sitcom). I'm trying to revive Bootsie's catchphrase: "Still, nemmind eh?". (With limited success.) I liked William Hartnell as the sergeant and followed him into Dr Who quite seamlessly ...

Has the Rag Trade come up yet?

Thought "Sykes" was always good, gentle, humourous and even believable. Saw the one with Peter Sellers in in the "Hattie" fest a few weeks ago.
