Many thanks Warren for all your hard work. The ads at the top of the page don't bother me at all - and neither did the "crash" coz my lappie went crazy yesterday as well (lovely man fixed it this morning...phew).

ive put the ads back in first post but there are tiny! 150 x 150

Ive managed to repair the image uploads 59.JPG
now just need to sort pm's out.

Warren on the smaller ads which are shown, I note there is one for ebay. If I use ebay going through the Forum by clicking on it instead of my normal route, do you get anything?

I 'Believe' so, that is another advertiser separate from Google, it's been on for 3 days so far and has earn t the site..0p lol
though i don't know how it's calculated

bit slow to load but i can now access the forum via IE on my lappy...will try desk top tonight

right, had to redo the restore as the image tables hadn't refreshed properly (something i was unaware of), so "yes" we have lost todays posts BUT! all the images are working again something i deemed more important than a days posts. thanks for your patience folks.

All the links which members have previously put in forum posts linking to other posts on the forum appear to have become invalid because the addresses appear to have changed since the weekend upgrade.
An example in a post below - the blue link does not work now.
Nice old street lamp and decorative bollards in this forum pic - classy street furniture !
Original pic in https://birminghamhistory.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=8484&p=423189#post423189

The link address to the post with the original pic of https://birminghamhistory.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=8484&p=423189#post423189
has become https://birminghamhistory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=8484&p=423189#post423189

It appears that all the links to forum post which members copied and put on the forum before the upgrade had the word 'forum' in them so none of them now work and return a '404 not found' error.

may need to change it back to forum (very easy and quick fix)

ill try it now see if it works.

Yes Warren good work. I've only just received the email where you asked me the address of the shortcut i used as it went into my spam, I know it had the word forum in it,
but i think you've got that sorted now. All the best Michael.

Many thanks to Warren and the team for bringing this wonderful website back in line. I thin k I have been having withdrawal symptoms over the past few days, unable to read the postings. Again, many thanks,

Eddie
