Royal visits to Lucas

Di.Poppitt

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
My husbands uncle was a foreman at Lucas, and on the day of the Queens visit he pulled a fast one, he smuggled his wife in to work, gave her a white coat and she stood with the women on the shop floor.

This photo was taken of Lucas ladies just before the Queen’s visit in 1939. Any ideas which site ? Viv.

My Aunt had her photo taken with the Queen, when she stopped at my Aunts workstation on her visit to Lucas.
Aunty May was so proud of that photo.
