  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Searching for any information at all on
LESLIE BERNARD ROGERS born 1903 .
was in the police force 1950s and also a bus driver at some time .
Was married to Gwendoline but separated after the war .
 
Is this Leslie Bernard born 1903 in Newport. M., married Gwendoline Lewis in 1924 also in Newport M. ?

Did he live or work in Birmingham?
 
Thread title suggests he was in the police in Birmingham and drove a Birmingham Corporation Bus.
Police records on Ancestry stop in 1950.

That one appears to die in 1985 in Kiddermnster.

1939 at 166 Dovedale Road erdington but not at that address on 1939 register.

Yes it is him .he moved to Birmingham after getting married to Gwendoline and they separated after the war and I believe stayed there until he died in Kidderminster in 1985 .
 
There does appear to be at least one mention of Leslie in the newspapers.

4 Feb 1927, Western Mail. He was summoned for obtaining unemployment benefit by false representation - case dismissed. At that time (and in 1921) he was a wire drawer.
