Books: by Reverend T. J. Bass about Birmingham

DonnaP

proper brummie kid
I'm trying to find some works of the Rev. T. J. Bass, from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The titles are "Everyday in Blackest Birmingham" and "Down East amongst the Poor".

Have tried googling, central library and University of Birmingham library, but with little success. Any advice would be welcome

Thanks
Donna

They did have copies in Birmingham Central Library. Local Studies.
I beleive another title is " Hope In Shadowland ".

Donna I would contact Central Library and ask they are usually very helpful.:)

Thank you so much for your help - I haven't tried the local studies department so I will give them a whirl and let you know how it goes.

regards

Donna :)

I've noticed your posting because I want to find out about St Matthews and St Annes churches in Duddeston in the 1870s and 1880s. My ancesters had a mass baptism in 1879, and I was wondering why. They were a large family of Taylors.
