  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Can anyone identify this arm of the services? My uncle is in the photograph and I am sure that he served at sea. He would have enlisted in Warwickshire.Norman Higginson (2nd. rt. bottom row).jpg
 
The fella with the lifebouy looks like a (veteran) Marine, Bee. The lads standing with him wear no insignia so I'd say the photo was taken while they were in training
 
Nice photograph, yes they look like Royal Marines. The photograph may have been taken at the RN Gunnery School which was on Whale Island in Portsmouth Harbour.
