I suspect that "Smethwick" should be Sparkbrook but I am not sure. The eroll has it as Sparkbrrok Division and Balsall Heath WardIt can be surprising what in what districts places are classed.
I don't know these road and all I can say is that some of the people that were on roads I searched matched people on the Birmingham electoral rolls.
Balsall Heath traditionally came within the Kings Norton district, though I think it may be the Smethwick parish that's new.

Thanks Mike. I did, however, just use 9 as an example (unusual surname). Not sure what number Linda actually wanted. Here is a not very clear map showing Orchard Terrace in red, except for no 9 , which is in blue.
It is on the 1921 census but listed as Smethwick.Hello thanks everyone for your help, maps particularly useful.
It is my Great Grandfather John Richardson I am looking for , he and Great Grandmother separated.
I don't know why I can't find it on the census !!!!
As You cannot actually see who is at the address , before purchasing it makes it more difficult.
Thanks again for your help
Linda
Once again thank you for your help, I looked back into my records .
John was born in Union Terrace Aston in 1857.
He died in 1936, his address was 1/1 Orchard Road Balsall Heath , it was registered by his son.
Bearing in mind that you' can be certain about the truth but you cannot be sure the truth is certain' I was trying to find an electoral register for 1936, so that I could check his sons address.........does anyone know if there is one online ?
