I wrote this for a friend on the birth of his first daughter....
A baby grows from Love to Love,
A perfect gift from the Angels above,
She’ll steal your heart and guide your life,
Bring pure light to your darkest night,
She’ll open your eyes to a world renewed
Depend on you, need you, her whole life through,
Be there for her, care for her, watch her grow,
Nurture her, love her, let your feelings show,
Be ready to listen..try to understand,
Always be there with a helping hand,
She will learn through her life by examples from you,
So be open and honest and always be true,
Treasure the gift that you’ve been blessed with,
For when you are gone, through her you will live,
Give her the things for which you may have yearned,
Not material gifts, just the lessons you’ve learnt
Be part of her, talk with her, be her guide
And she’ll always be your joy and your pride.
