my dad's motorbike

My dad loved his motor bike. When I was about 5 yrs old he took me for a ride on the pillion. We had only got round the corner when the bike ran out of petrol. Dad sent me home to fetch the can of petrol from the shed. I remember struggling with 2 hands to carry this can back to my dad. He put the petrol in the tank and we went on our way. What a field day Health and Safety would have had back then in 1950. No helmets, a 5 yr old out of sight of an adult and carrying a gallon can of petrol. How I'm glad I was brought up in the 50's !!! Wonderful carefree days.
