My Brum

Di.Poppitt

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
There is a city that is part of me
The city we call Brum
It's in the very heart of me
It's always been my Brum.

I left it in my salad days
The city we call Brum
I miss it in so many ways
It will always be my Brum.

Quite right Di
I left Brum and came back after 22 years and it was the best move I ever made
By the way "Charlies dead"

that'll get 'em all going

'My Brum'

You know what I loved Diana...how you did it both times in the third line of each verse..
And what you did was catch perfectly everything a person feels about who we are and where we grew up..
Well done..I enjoyed it very much.
Please do some more.

Thanks Kandy for those kind word. I felt it when I wrote it, not sure if there are any more :!:

Nice one Poppit. I left Brum in my salad days, too. Came back down south in '88 but Brum had no room for my family and me. Never mind, settled in Walsall which isn't too far. I still love Brum :smitten:, all it stands for and all who helped to build it to all the good things it is today :).
