I remember them little dishes of cockles. etc. loverly,:yum:yum I bought a 2 pound bag of whelks. and chewed some on the bus going home.
 
Bought 2kilos last Sat,1 for tea 1 for the Jar to eatin the Week.Only eat mussels Sept to March.They grow in the Summer.Whelks are £3 a gallon on the harbour at Whitstable
