Thanks Viv. Don't know what the 1940's version of photoshopping was, but these have certainly received it!

The original prints of these must still exist somewhere. How good it would be to see them and perhaps then be able to recognise the odd face.

This jolly image is fairly contemporary with the others. There is debate as to whether these ladies were (an unofficial) part of the Sutton Park mounted Home Guard unit (no lady members officially accepted into the HG until 1943), just members of a Sutton Riding Club, or a bit of both.

The vivacious lady in the centre has been identified as Miss Mary Brancker, a well-know Sutton vet.
