hi rosie
the mole family used to live and run a a amusement arcade on the corner of stratford rd and stoney lane and the walford rd way back in the early years and up until the late sixties and early seventy i think the one lad in the family was a david mole a big fair haired kid

There are a number of possible marriage details for W.M. and i have also looked for his death registration and there are a few of these also. There is this death --

William Mole Jan-Feb-Mar qtr 1840 Aston vol 16 page 139

If you think this might be the one i would suggest getting the cert to see who the informant was as it would more than likely be his wife

There is a Mole Street around this area, its just off Strattford Road and runs through to Highgate Road, its not far from where the Amusement arcade mentioned above used to be, I wonder if the street is named after the family or just a coincident?

Carl Chinn in "The streetsof Brum part 2" states that Mole St was named after Thomas Mole, a wealthy attorney who died on 7th Feb 1831, and his will state dthat his estates should be put in trust for his children , and on the majoity of his youngest , Harriet the resdsue should be auctioned. The trustees started preparing land for the auction, and Thomas St and Mole st were cut out in preparation. In 1834 lands for auction were offered for auction.
