The following link covers correspondence files held in Public Records Office in Victoria, Australia written by people outside Australia to the police department in Victoria in an attempt to locate individuals.  Great reading.

ASTLEY-ARLINGTON may be of interest on this site.
George Harwood sought by wife in Handsworth, Birmingham. He ran off with Mrs Florence Ada Temple taking all his money. His estate made bankrupt, their house sold, leaving wife and children "without a penny". He is a "very famous cricketer" has played for two counties. Police find the couple using the name Astley running a hotel in Melbourne. Photo of him on file.

May be useful to someone.
