Marriage on census before marriage

forward

master brummie
1861 census shows Thomas Brophy, his family, sister Catherine and sister in-law Emilia (Emily) Lloyd. Wiliam (brother to Thomas and Catherine) not recorded. However 1863 gives a marriage to William Brophy. So why say sister in law on census?
Thanks

When was Thomas Brophy born and where?

Thomas circa 1834 Birminham. Thanks of course his wife'sister. I blame the heat -:)

I'm intruiged, in that time two sisters marry into same family. As Brophy parents were from Ireland Michael and Mary Ann one wonders if the Lloyd family were also Irish.

Thanks

Not that uncommon I think, my g g grandfather, a brother and a sister married 2 sisters and a brother.

Mary Ann & Emily weren't of Irish stock as far as I can see, they were daughters of a Henry LLoyd and a Jane Davis, both give there birthplace as Bham in 1851.
