Late 1880s Birmingham Photography Studio - Angells, Hockley

Hi there,

I've come across what seems to be an 1880s family photograph taken at Angells photography studio on Abbey Street, Hockley. Does anyone on the forum know what dates this studio might have been in business? I'm looking to date the photograph so I know who these family members are.

I've attached a copy of the photo which I hope works. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you know the number of the place in Abbey Street then there are some helpful maps in this thread. Nothing about Angells however.

From Kellys directories(note year is year of publication and would refer to the year before):
There is no mention of him in the 1884 Kellys
1888 -1899 there is a John Cooke Angell, rent collector at 47 Abbey St .
1900- 1903 John Angell is still at 47 Abbey St, but is listed as a piano tuner.
He has gone by 1904 (though there is a John Angell, florist ,in lincoln st in balsall heath in 1910)
So it looks like he was a man of several trades, photography being one of them
