Lapworth Museum Of Geology

I visited this place a few weeks back. It’s a wonderful collection of rocks, fossils and minerals in a classic museum styled building. To me, it’s a bit of a specialised collection that will always be attractive to the enthusiast of traditional museums, but not a whole day out.

I went to the museum today, although I went past it last year.

From 1880 to approx 1900 it was on the top floor of Mason College overlooking Chamberlain Square! The museum moved to the current site in 1920. Was refurbished in 2016. Mainly came after that Dippy on Tour, knowing that there was more dinosaur bones here!

The museum exterior seen last year.
