Jenny Lind pub Garrison Lane

Tinpot

master brummie
Have come across this pub on the 1861 Census at 35 Garrison Lane while searching for ancestors in the Cartwright family. A search on the website only brings up a pub with this name in Aston Church Rd .

John Cartwriht is listed as a retail brewer of beer seller in the 1858, 1861, and 1862 directories. In the 1858 it is also added that he was a "seller of old iron". In 1867-1886 there is a John Cartwright listed as at the Kings Arms , 171 Sherlock St.(renumbered246 in early 1880s) In the 1855 PO directory a Joseph Cartwright is listed as a beer seller in Garrison Lane, but no number is given. In the 1855 Whites directory Joseph Cartwright is listed as a victualler at the Burbury Arms , Burbury St. Note date is publication date and actually likely to refer to the year (or possibly 2 years in early directories) before.
