Villian64,

Although an old post, I thought that I'd respond. There were three RAF Tactical Air Forces (TAF) formed during WW2. The first was in North Africa, the Second (part of Fighter Command originally) went to the Continent after D-Day and is probably the most well known. Third TAF operated in the Far East. Unfortunately, without more details it is impossible to say anything else about your father's service. May I suggest that you apply to the RAF for his service records in the first instance and then come back with any questions?

Rgds

Jonny
