  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

I came across these three videos compiled by Joceline Glai on YouTube.
They are a mix of old postcards of roads and areas of Handsworth with film of the current (2020) area shown and she includes some history and comments.
I think she has done a great job and thought it would be good to share her excellent work with everyone.



 
It is probably about 55 years since I walked along Villa Road and the Lozells Road. I did it today with Joceline Glai. near where I once lived; near where my Past family lived; where my dad drove the 70 and 72 buses. Wow! It was amazing. I recognised everywhere - where it still is and where it was. But!!!! The litter!!!!
