Hi I have just found your links to WW 1 sites and while it is not local to Birmingham it might be of interest to someone out there.
This is the first research done and it has been updated and soon this will be on line. The present web page is a good starting point and you can email for more information.
The Hyde War Memorial Trust was set up to remember the 710 men of Hyde who lost their lives in the Great War.
On top of Werneth Low stands a granite monument the land around it being bought for the recreation of the people of Hyde. The visitor centre is open at the week ends for a brew and a chat.
