Hick Street

Can anyone locate what looks like Stokes?Square Hick Street, Deritend Sub District for me? My grandmother Mary Elizabeth Ellen Cartwright was born there in 1882 Her father John Cartwright was a leather dresser.

This 1950s map shows the fire station on Highgate Square, I imagine the tower, visible on the 1937 aerial view, was the training tower for the firemen, could be a church tower but seems disproportionately tall.

Thanks brummy-lad. It makes more sense when seeing the 1950’s map.The earlier version has the square constructed for access prior to further development for industrial use possibly. Although the pathways and bowling green seem to relate to an earlier period.
