Help needed with Death Records

Hello all,

We recently asked on here about our Gt uncle William Henry Wright, who sadly was admitted to Monyhull hospital around the age of 10 in 1910 and was never discharged, although we believe he lived to be a good old age.
Someone on here very kindly suggested we get in touch with Birmingham central library, and from this we have sent an application away to view the records which they believe might have a reference to Willie on.
There are 4 records available, but unfortunately none of these would contain any reference to his death...they are more admin records etc, but still worth a look.
We were just wondering if anyone on here had any idea as to where we could find out anything about his death in hospital...surely if he died in a hospital there would be a record of this death.
On a recent visit to Brandwood End cemetery we drove upto where Monyhull hospital used to be, and were quite surprised as to how close they are to each other. We were also told that many patients who died in Monyhull, were indeed buried at Brandwood End, but without having a definate date of his death, the £18 per half hour search could prove to be very expensive.
This poor fella, never really got any visitors, so we feel if we could find out more about his death and maybe where he was laid to rest, the least we could do would be to give his life a little more meaning, even if it means just laying a few flowers down beside where he lies.

Many Thanks......Tracey :)

Hello Tracey :) Appreciate your quest to honour your Gt Uncle,, nice 1 :)
Your Gt Uncle William Henry Wright you say born "about 1900" & about 10 in 1910 on entry to Monyhull
I would suggest tracing him through Death records as well as your Hopital records you,re presently pursuing,
For instance; there is a William Henry Wright death registered B,ham 5/o7/1984 (He born 1896)
This is at the moment a "possibility", are you sure of birth 1900 ? where was he born?
Do you have his details on the 1901 census &/or his birth certificate ?
Any addittional info would i feel sure assist to obtain a good result for your lovely quest,
Cheers JohnY

Thanks for replying John,

Yes.....we got him on the 1901...aged 6 weeks.
He was the son of Robert and Selina Wright....unfortunately we haven't got his birth certificate.

Many thanks.....Tracey :)
