Harrisons Opticians

Does anyone out there have any info about the early days of Harrisons Opticians? My Grandads sister married Andrew Harrison and family legend says he invented Orbito pads which are the pads which hold your specs on your nose.

Hi Kathy. It is now 2019 and we’ve found your message in a bottle. We will try to find anything about the early days of Harrison’s for you, but could you tell us if it is a penguin or a rook?

Even better advert from 1917 and Orbito Specs. A rook on a book says “don’t hurt you beak to ease your eyes.”

I've always thought it was a wise crow or raven. Penguins aren't clever enough to wear specs, however this British seabird is

A spectacled Guillemot.
