this is a joint verse between Canada and England
by Beryl and John

Dont pick the flowers

Please do not pluck me from my floor

My green buds are pointing skyward

Colour is wanting in this world

See my blazing face heed my word

With the heat of the summer sun

My seed grew pushed hard to flower

You are meant to view me as wild

Spilling my colour by the hour

When you reach to cut off my limbs,

You will be denying me my reign

So let me stand with grace erect

And let my flower bloom again!

Next spring my seeds will multiply

A wild flower glowing rebelliously free

My blossom will sway here brightening

Adorning my small flowered valley!

That's lovely John and Beryl. I love all flowers and have been in the mountain meadows
and seen the amazing carpets of wild flowers. Thanks.

A fine verse and so true. The Trillium's in the woods in Ajax bloom every spring and are looked forward to, heralding the coming of summer.
Thankyou.

John, Walk tall among the flowers as they bloom and fade away. Breathe in fresh air and slowly walk away.............

The flowers that bloom in the spring tra la.

In fields fresh and green
The sun shines its light on the scene
Where buttercups and daisies run
Their petals shiny in the sun
Bring hope to the sick at heart
Bring promises of life arrive, depart
To sleep beneath earth’s winter hours
Till sun’s love wakens spring’s bright flowers!

The Divide

Miles apart yet so close in mind
Spirits are together one of a kind
Thoughts flow across the great divide
Like the oceans never ending tide
I close my eyes and see you clear
Hearing your words that are so dear
This great divide can’t keep us apart
As long as we stay heart to heart
Words exchanged in poetry and verse
So easily we are able to converse
Yet, mostly just a splendid way,
We like to pass a lovely day
In verse form free and bold
Some with rhyming lines of old
To this, to that, we flit and dart,
But, always writing from the heart
Communicating our feelings deep
The best on paper next to keep
Within each other we shall find
Something strong and true to bind
Firmer till the years shall cease
This thread of never broken peace
Love to watch the setting sun
Just think of you when day is done
Where love in space was once a bar
My thoughts I’ll send from star to star
In hope that you will feel them too
And know this love I have for you!

Don’t pick the flowers which invites weary eyes
Peering out, up and over with the aspect of surprise
Don’t destroy what is standing because it is there
Its revenge can’t be traded for flowers don’t care
But will continue to grow upward, holding their own
Gainfully flourish till once again fully grown.
