That's a strong list Carolina.

I can only remember seeing a few nationally recognised bands inc Toyah (I was glad I'd left my PVC-shouldered donkey jacket on to see the ginger topped Kings Heathener) and Wishbone Ash (long after their Argus prime)

My list includes
King Crimson
Yes
Deep Purple
Iron Maiden
Black Sabbath
Pink Floyd
Jimi Hendrix
The Who
The Walker Bros...had to chaperone my younger sister
The Stones
but the all time best live show QUEEN

Once danced to the Ivy Benson band...a garrison town somewhere...25 squaddies too each girl.:(:(.
There used to be lots of big bands played,at quite mediocre venues them days.
Saw many big stars at the Birmingham hip.Frankie Laine,Al Martino,Guy Mitchell...
Elkie Brooke,Gladys Knight ( 3 times),Shirley Bassey (7 times, the first time in Cardiff, when she was about 18 and the Last time in Coventry when she was about 60,she hadn't changed a bit).:):).

The Yardbirds
Manfred Mann
The Seekers
The Nashville Teens
Keith Barron and the Cheetahs

There are others but I was there in the 60's and I don't remember it...Oh! Yeh of course, The Beatles at the Odeon.

I saw some some bands too when they made the film Privilege at the Blues ground.

Bob Dylan and his band, him top dollar

I went to see Frankie Lyman & The Teenagers

also on the show was a very, very young Tommy Steele. This was at the Hippodrome in 1956/7 (I think I screamed with the rest of the girls!!);).

Guess this doesn't really count
Sacha Distel and a fantastic guitarest whose name has vanished from my head at the mo

I think that was the group that used to rehearse, at the studio that was below my office (very loud), I learnt the songs that way.

Hello Rowan, i had a strange experience when Frankie Lymon was at the hippodrome, i used to go round the back to get autigraphs of the artists, but some one stole one of the instruments and i was grabed by one of the security and taken to the stage door, when they decided i had nothing to do with the theft i was let go , but i had quite a chat with them and allso with the Platters. by for now.
