Great Uncle who served in WW1

Kevkonk

master brummie
I wondered if there was a way to find out any information on my great uncle who was a soldier in WW1. Anything about his life in general as I was told many times I was like him.

I note that we are nearing the June 28th 1914 Assassination anniversar.

I did some googling and know that he was about 29 when war broke out.
I understand he was in the Leinster Rifles, under General Bellingham? I have an idea he was close to him as a friend or neighbour.

Peter Madden, Co Louth

Thank you in advance.

As you have posted on Birmingham History Forum do we assume your great uncle lived in Birmingham? If so a bit more information would help - eg siblings, parents etc.
