Hi all, I was wondering whether any of you would happen to know anything about this chap, Graham Squiers, or indeed if any of you actually might have seen him perform in theatres in Brum. Apparently, he was a music hall entertainer in the early 1900s. He published a few booklets - Birmingham dialogue monologues concerning the exploits of Aerbut (Herbert) and Gaertie (Gertie) Paerks (Perks) of Staerchley (Stirchley), Baernegum (Birmingham) - the last one being produced in the 1930s. He also did a 78rpm recording of some of these dialect monologues for the Columbia recording company. It sounds as if his speciality was doing Birmingham and/or Black Country dialect sketches in the locality. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have one of his book(let)s up in my loft since 1985. It is called "Aerbut and Gaertie in War Time". It contains six dialect monologues, but I do not know anything about the author. Here, hopefully is a photo of the cover.IMG_0029.JPG
