Found these in the Guardian. (might be interesting)

The second one interested me because I remember the M1 like this and opening the throttle on my "Goldie" to Watford Gap, the fasted I'd ever done and the last as it shook like hell, no helmet either.
 
Interesting story, Bobby, of the first Midland Red CM5 coach to travel on the M1 in 1959 (more than half a century ago now: doesn't time fly when you're having fun!). And a wonderful "period" video clip about the M1: the musical soundtrack made me chuckle. Thanks for sharing.
