First Day of spring

Reginald.F.Horton

master brummie
First Day of spring

The morning they grow lighter now
Revealing new buds on the tree bow
Blackbird sings in the trees that sway
His song greets the springs first day

Through the sun rays warm glow
The flowers they all begin to grow
Snow drops, crocuses all in a row
Emerging from the winter’s snow

Daffodils petals reach for the sky
Followed by the bluebells nearby
Flowers appearing from everywhere
Reaching up to the clean fresh air

The tree branches spring into bud
Cows in the meadow chew the cud
New born lambs jump and play
All this before the break of day

The crowing cockerels call fills the air
Life is stirring almost everywhere
Nature awakes to greet the new dawn
As this new spring day is born

Fish in the streams in sun rays play
Into the spot light then dash away
Leaping up high way into the air
Mayflies they had better beware

So once again nature comes alive
As the bees swarm from their hives
Spirituality reverberates everywhere
Through out this earth held in
God’s heavenly care
