My father was in the AFS and lived in New Spring Street. My mum remembers walk to the station with my sisters and she thought it was not a long walk. The only station I could find was at 99 Vauxhall Rd. I know there was a station at Moseley Rd but I think that may have been too far away. I live in Australia and have never been to England so can only go off google maps. Maybe someone might be able to help me.

The nearest train station to New Spring St would have been Hockley, a ten/fifteen minute walk.
What number New Spring St did your parents live at?

There is a long thread about the AFS:
Maybe some information is there?
