Film Runaway Railway made 1966

Just been watching this film on TV it starred Ronnie Baker the interesting thing out this film was where it was filmed.
If any old Sappers Royal Engineers remember being stationed at 8 Railway Regt on Salisbury Plain at Longmore Railway this where it was filmed 1966. The film used WD locomotive Gordon with LMR markings and the vast area of sidings at Longmor Railway, the other locomotive was 0-6-0 called Matilda. I really enjoyed this film. It bought back memories of my National Service when I spent 2 days training with explosives at Longmor we were shown a film made for BBC blowing the track from under a Southern Region locomotive without damaging the loco. I remember whilst training we was laying wood blocks the size of a house brick painted white TNT and I dropped one of these blocks just as a 2nd ltn. was passing Sapper you’ve just blown me up but I got away with I wondered if any of members also was station a Longmor Railway Regt. Another thing I remembered I saw 5 uniformed officer approaching with flat hats and I saluted only to find out they was 5 RSMs it’s still rings in ear SAPPER you don’t salute a non commissioned officer Happy Days.

its a bit like the titfield thunderbolt movie:grinning:
