Factory in Bartholomew Street.....

David Cope, presumably the founder of the company, died on 7th. May, 1866. Again, I assume the sons continued to business.

My great uncle, Peter Fallon, died aged 12 following an industrial accident. The report of the inquest (Birmingham Daily Post , Wed. June 13, 1866 says) "Peter Fallon (12), who lived in Bordesley Street, was at work at the manufactory of Messrs. Cope and Sons, metal rollers, New Bartholomew Street, in the act of crossing a wooden platform, when he stumbled and fell against the machinery.." The death certificate gives Peter's occupation as "spoon roller".
