  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Evelyn Road Sparkhill

I think i have spelt it right in sparkhill. was there ever a cinema there. if so what was it called.
 
Looks very much like a residential road from this image. Can't imagine it having a cinema (although not impossible of course). Viv.

Right Viv, no sign of any cinema. A church, school and electrical substation, but no cinema
 
I can remember no cinema on Evelyn Road or any talk of one. The women's hospital used to be on the corner where the school is now. I suppose the nearest cinema would have been the Savoy or later called The Sparkhill Picture Palace on the corner of Nansen Road.

Had an "Aunt" who lived in Evelyn Rd. far too sedate to have had a cinema, you would have to up to Stratford Rd for the likes of a cinema.
