Hi all I have recently come across a Josiah white safe also labelled at 42&43 water street. Any ideas what I can do with it, also I have the key for it. Thanks in advance

We do not know what your strong bx looks like, but I have an idea that is is portable and was the type of strong box used to carry gold and money on trains and stage coaches especially during times of war in the Americas.
I also think that Birmingham, Alabama, might be its origin rather than Birmingham, England.
But someone here may know better than I do.

Nothing seems to turn up, Mike, in a search, except the name does feature on modern on-line web sites in Australia I think.
Although the name is used by a UK clothing company that has no connection.
The Osiris Egyptian story also cops up. The connection between Egypt and safe is the word box.

Lo sé, es fácil, subir una foto, pero me dice que es muy pesada la foto, que el servidor no puede cargarla. Sin embargo, le bajare la resolución a la fotografía, para poder subirla.

Lo sé, es fácil, subir una foto, pero me dice que es muy pesada la foto, que el servidor no puede cargarla. Sin embargo, le bajare la resolución a la fotografía, para poder subirla.

At last I was able to load the photograph of the safe, which I have (it was from my aunt)

The crest on the safe looks as if it is that of Queen Victoria. Did Osiris hold a Royal Warrant or was it a safe for use in a British Embassy or Consulate?
