Can anyone help with the Elton family who lived in Aston from the 1850's. Names are Charles, Edward, John, Caroline, Clara, George.
At one time they were brewer retailers [ publicans] and had the Highgate Tavern at 133 Moseley Road as well as premeises at 34 Hope Street and 25 Mc Donald [?]Street. Other branches of the family were Carpenters.

Good Morning,
Thanks very much for replying to my posting.
Yes, this is the right family, sons George and Edward also became Brewer Retailers [ a posh name for publicans?] and George had the Highgate Tavern at 133 Moseley Road. I think he and his wife then went to New Zealand and his brother Edward and his wife took over the pub.I don't know if it still stands and was interested to see if any old photos of it existed. Thanks for getting back to me
