Ellis’s Erdington

I have seen this photo before and the caption says 'Barnabus Road, showing the end of Ellis's florists shop'. I'm sure it was posted by a member of the family. Not sure which thread it was on though. I remembered it because of the 'u' instead of an 'a' (not being picky it just stuck in my mind).

An interesting web site about Ellis's, Vivienne.
G. Ellis certainly had fingers in a few pies it seems and his businesses would appear to have been very successful. Looking a the picture in post 872 I wondered if the fish was carted in the roof box on the cab.
The Barley Mow did change its appearance somewhat, I wonder how long he was landlord? WOW! I would loved to have been there for the Marsh & Baxters pork pies and the onions. :D
