Clearing out my files I found this image of a folly in Edgbaston. It was built in c1830. Wonder if it’s still in the Edgbaston garden ? I don’t have the date of the newspaper extract, Viv.

Incidentally , I noticed on the ordinaryn (as opposed to the 3D ) view on Giooglemaps, the numbers of the houses now seem to have been added .

Hi, the folly is still there.
Mike, your image is of Wellington Road Handsworth? No wonder you couldn't see it. ;)
It seems that it can be looked at close up according to the sign.
