  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

OH ALL MY YOUNG ONES OF THE NIGHT
STRETCH UP YOUR HANDS TO THE LIGHT
FOR WHILE YOU DANCE SWAY & SHAKE
ECSTASY DRUGS YOUR MIND WILL TAKE

DEEP IN THE SHADOWS DANGER AWAITS
BEWARE DRUG PUSHERS AND THEIR MATES
THEY WILL TRY TO TEMPT YOU IF THEY CAN
JUST WALK AWAY IT’S THE SAFEST PLAN

DANCE AND TWIRL IN A WORLD OF YOUR OWN
WHILE ICE DOES KILL THOSE WHO ARE PRONE
THE MEN WHO STAND AND PEDAL THEIR WARE
MELT INTO THE CROWD FOR THEY DON’T CARE

MOTHERS AND FATHERS SISTERS OR BROTHERS
NEWS OF A CHILD'S DEATH THEY WILL DISCOVER
THEIR WORLD WILL COLLAPSE IN CRIES OF GRIEF
THE TRAGEDY FOR THEM WILL BE BEYOND BELIEF

MEN OF GREED MOVE IN WITH SWEET TALK
ASK THE GIRLS IF THEY WANT TO WALK
SHOW THEM TABLETS GO ON HAVE SOME FUN
GLASS IN HAND ONE DRINK AND THE DEED IS DONE

FAMILIES WILL MOURN FOR THEIR LOST CHILD
FEELING RUN HIGH AND TEMPERS GROW WILD
TEARS OF ANGER FLOWS AMONGST THEIR FRIENDS
ON THOSE WHO ARE TO BLAME A FEAR DESCENDS

ECSTASY, HEROIN, CANNABIS WEED & COCAINE
PUSHERS SELL DRUGS THAT AFFECT THE BRAIN
THEY GROW RICH AS THE YOUNG ONES SUFFER
AND FOR MANY PARENTS LIFE GETS TOUGHER

JUDGES OF LAW MUST HAVE MINDS OF GRANITE
THEY SURELY CAN’T RESIDE UPON THIS PLANET
IGNORING THOSE WHO SELL SPEED, CRYSTAL, ICE
MUST TURN A BLIND EYE TO THESE MEN OF VICE

SURELY OUR LEADERS MUST OPEN THEIR EYES AND SEE
BY LISTENING TO ALL THE YOUNGSTERS PLEAS
FOR INNOCENT PEOPLE CAN ONLY STAND AND WAIT
AS DRUG BARONS SEAL THEIR CHILDREN'S FATE

Reg, I think poems which make a comment, and give an opinion are important. Love this poem it really is clever way of driving a point home. Thank You
 
Your poem is especially poignant now, as I know a family watching over a
young man whose life is in the balance from an overdose of crack cocaine.
 
I know its not your intention for this piece of work.....but I do think that the words would easily transcribe into a Rap track......which would be an excellent way to hit the facts home
 
DEATH IS A HIGH PRICE TO PAY BY DRUGS FOR A FUN NIGHT OUT, WILL THE YOUNG ONES NEVER LEARN ? THAT YOU CANNOT FIND HAPPINESS IN DRUGS BUT ONLY SADNESS  ?

A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR BUT HOW MANY YOUNG ONES WILL LIVE THROUGH CHRISTMAS TO SEE IN THE NEW YEAR ?   :'(
