Hi, I am trying to find out more about my Great Great Grandad's and Great Grandad's after him, shop in Birmingham. It was called Dale & Sons Ltd. Gentlemen's Outfitters Of Handsworth. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is a firm listed in Hockley hill, but I did not consider that to be handsworth

Yes, in addition to not being in what I would consider Handsworth, they are described variously as mainly some sort of drapers, not gents outfitters

any idea of where it was in handsworth.. ie soho road etc
It was 127 Soho Road, Handsworth. I posted on here a while ago about it, I wondered if I could find out any more. Someone did show me a photo but the shop was on the edge of it.

127 Soho Road

From Kellys directories (date is publication date and would probably refer to year before):

No mention of no 127 in 1900 edition.

1903-21 Crabtree Misses Helena & Edith M. ladies' & children's outfitters

1924 Dale, Robert, gents outfitter

1932-50 Dale, Robert, hosier

1955-68 Dale R.Ltd outfitters

1969 no 127 not listed

Robert Dale was my Great Great Grandad.

Birmingham Post 1943, on the death of Robert Dale shows he has a further property at 290 Birmingham Road, Wilde Green.
