I well remember going to school from Guildford St, along Clifford St, down Porchester St pausing on the way at the sweet shop for a penny Vantas, a squirt of fruit flavour in a bottle topped up with soda water (i think) which you had to drink on the premises a fine start to the day at Cowper St school

I am looking for information about Cowper Street. I know there are references to a 'Cowper Street' on the forum already but I am not sure if this is the street I am looking for.

The address I have is; 1 Coleshill Place, Cowper Street in the district of St Mary's. Was the Cowper Street, Aston in the district of St Mary's?

Maps, photos would be appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation

Below is a map c 1889 showing the position in red of Coleshill place in Cowper st

Thanks for the map. This confirms that this Cowper street is the one I am looking for. Good of you to highlight Coleshill place.

Much appreciated.

Bob

Yes Moss , it must be Coleshill place, as it is the only one with a break in the houses on the left hand side (looking from the road), and no break on the right.

On the 1911 census my grandparents and six of their children including my mother were living at 10 Burton Place, Cowper Street, which I can see on the map, thank you.

All I could come up with for Cowper Street is Spilsbury's on the corner of Newtown Row and the school.

I have found the pictures to be very enlightening.

Thank you so much for sharing these photos. Three generations of my family lived at 58 Cowper St. They were the Tildesleys. If anyone knows them I'd love to hear from them. The name Benjamin, Ben and Benny :)

HI Irene
I Am just wondering whether or not if these are the same endsors that I Used to know
Or should i say our family because my cousin val married an roger endsor many many years ago
when these got together they got a little house right behind H PSauce factory
but sadly it never worked out for them val had a couple of little ones by him
but some how or reason she met a fella and decided to leave this roger endsor he had a sister as well
my cousin val is still with this guy ever since she left roger endsor
Irene i think its abig coincidence you coming on here on thisthread asking about some one , beause my reason for
saying this to you because tonight i was going through some very old threads where you and me replyed in one
or another on a very old thrtead you mentionioned one name about a friend you have going to london trip
I Think it was and i happenend to mention anoher name to asked your friend if her friend had a broher called colin
her name was pamela gaskin in which my friend had a sister called pamela
now its the endsor family you are asking about thats why i say what i say coincidence or not
its been many years now since my cousin married the endsors but these kids of rogers and val are well aged like us and they have kids of there own and when i met them at another wedding of my cousin whom is christine vals sister i got completely lost when introducing kids after kids differations of rogers and val kids compapoting thee little ones
well Irene i hope i have not confused you hey best wishes Alan,,, Astonian,,,,,

There was an Endsor family living in Paddington St, just a few yards up from your nan's place Lyn. The only one I knew of was Kenny Endsor.
