Hi Astonian, you are right , but I would call it the bottom of Holly Lane, the top end to me was Grange road/Orphanage Road maybe because we always walked up Holly lane from school,I do remember the bookies next to a café, and if I remember right just past there on the same side of the bookies there was a army cadets training ground
I can't remember a café in Holly lane, although Astonian is probably right that Holly lane continued over the Tyburn road, then the café would have been jelfs, on the road down to fort dunlops.We used to walk along Holly lane from Paget Road school to go to Erdington swimming baths

The TA barracks (Army Cadets)was on the other side of the road, over the canal bridge. I had 5 happy years in the Army Cadet Force, ( ACF)
in the early 60's.
