Good Afternoon everyone.
Clara Maria Green born in Saltley to a Thomas William Green and Maria Rhodes. Unfortunately her father died of Tuberculosis in 1901.
Maria Rhodes almost immediateley remarried to Thomas Williams brother (James John Green). The family moved together with Clara's older sister, Lily B1896, to Stoke -on- Trent but returned to Birmingham after 1911. She trained as a Nurse probably during WW1. But seems to have departed from the family.
I have traced some emmigration details which seem to indicate that she travelled to New York on her way to Canada. in1926
In the ship manifest she is listed as a Nurse.
Is it possible she served during the war and at one of our local hospitals. If so would there be any records of her time there?
Hope that makes sense.

How certain are you that the Clara Green that emigrated in 1926 is your Clara Green? Seem to be a few things that don't quite match.

Clara Maria Green as in #1 was born 1897 with mmn Rhodes. Registered in Aston Jul - Sep quarter. vol 6D and page 387

And a Clara Mabel Green reg Kings Norton 1897, birth is listed as Bham in 1911 and she definitely travels to Canada, birth again given as Bham.

There's a baptism for a Frederick Lees in 1919, mother is listed as Clara Maria Green giving the impression that he is illegitimate (no father listed).

Not sure if it's relevant.
