HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
we are now using a backup solution

Looking at #2065, its something that has always amazed me, that the thing about HE damage, is so variable, the "Rackhams", building on the corner looks nearly undamaged, it the blast direction, not size amount, same in NI.

I think it is St. Pauls spire Lyn.
The building with all the steps is the old dental hospital. Looked quite intimidating!
great thanks viv so now we know that the dental hospital is showing on the corner on my photo..if that was me going to the dental i would have been up the one flight of steps and straight down the other

What great Victorian pics, really interesting Lyn, I went as an 8 year old to the old Dental Hosp Viv, had gas, still remember the stink of rubber, and cold feeling of gas, was quite ill with it, threw up for a few days. It was an intimidating place Viv, but some people would be glad of it now!!

I would say looking at the church spire that it is definitely St Pauls. Studying the maps I would say that the photo was taken near the junction of Newhall Street and Great Charles Street. I think that the camera has, because of foreshortening, shown the hill steeper than it actually is.
