Circus Chapel

Is this photo showing us part of Smithfield Meat Market? It's labelled on the Shoothill site as Circus Chapel, Bradford Street. Was the Circus Chapel building replaced when Birmingham Corporation bought the site? Or was the Circus Chapel in the photo converted into Smithfield Market? If so it has an interesting history, including fire early an establishment called 'Ryan's Amphitheatre'. This is extracted from the British History Online site:

"Circus Chapel, formerly Ryan's Amphitheatre, was converted in 1848, at a cost, including the purchase price, of £2,250. In 1873 it was described as brick built, with four Ionic pilasters, supporting a plain pediment. In 1851 there were sittings for 1,000 and an estimated Sunday evening attendance of 850. At this date the chapel was said to be closely connected with Heneage Street. Missions from which the Pershore Road and Gooch Street churches derive were founded from Bradford Street in 1867 and 1882 respectively, and members were largely responsible for the opening in 1861, of the Wycliffe Church, Bristol Road. The church was dissolved in 1890, and the site sold to the corporation later to serve as the meat market"

The building was replaced. The meat market was completely different. Below is a picture of that corner from round the corner in Sherlock St that I took in the early 1970s. You are looking at where would have once been the side of the Shoothill Circus photo, with the little tower on the corner
